That was crazy.
I really cant believe I survived.
Well, it's over. It was, at least, officially at 8am. I was asleep by then, whining about my eyes hurting, about the coffee making me sick, and about the need to finish packing.
Looking back, at first I wasn't proud of what I'd done. I knew a lot of other readers had read a lot more than I did yesterday. I looked down at the book I'd finished and the book I'd started and I wasn't that impressed. Even on days when I wasn't reading my eyes out I could put away more pages than that. But then I realized I was moving, and I was trying to keep everybody in the house happy, and I was trying to just be in several different places at once.
Then I was super happy of what I'd read and I can't wait for October to come where I won't be moving. Things I want to remember for then are... (1) Take breaks to indulge, instead of plowing through a book all day then night comes and I just want to be lazy and surf Goodreads when that was supposed to be my reading hour of win, (2) be a hell of a lot better prepared and make sure the rest of the house understands what I'm up to, and (3) don't start off with a book that was getting on my nerves.
I read over 500 pages, completed Twilight and started Catching Fire. I am most happy about having pushed through a reader's block and got the job done, yay!
Thanks to all of my supporters! I am off to do some more reading.
ALSO! Do to he awesome of my moving I am hosting a giveaway for May for my followers only. It will be international. Details to come once I'm all in the new house!
Thanks all!

Read-A-Thon April 2012 - Update Two
Hey all! I know this is super late, but this is exactly why I mentioned that times wouldn't be so accurate when it came to these updates. I didn't want to return to my blog unless I had some good news, which I do, so I'm ready to deliver.
First of all I finished Twilight, and on the suggestion of TG in one of my lovely cheerying comments I've decided to dive right into Catching Fire, and I'm so glad for the suggestion! I feel like I'm spoiling myself by reading this book. I've sort of put it off because I was afraid to read it due to it possibly being awesome. Sort of like hoarding a giant chocolate bar because you don't want to eat it and then not have it. Got it? Good.
I almost made myself sick in the car today reading, but that's love, isn't it?
I will not give my opinion on Twilight yet. All of my reviews shall come later, so await them patiently, my dears.
So! I am well aware that the read-a-thon will end at 8am for me tomarrow. However, did I mention my insomnia already? I think I'm going to try to stay up a little longer than usual to keep my nose in a book for a while. This migt develop into a habit, but all the more fun if you ask me. At least then I might have the energy and the peace and quiet to read.
Pages Read : 435
Books Read : 1
Nom Rewards : 2 Cups of Coffee
Random Thoughts : I would give anything for books to put on my bare shelves. I had to give up so many when I moved... :(

Read-A-Thon April 2012 - Update One
Well this is a little late, I know but I've been hard at work reading ad I'm just super glad at my progress so far, so here goes...
I didn't wake up as early as I'd hoped. Last night I had a friend come over by the name of 'insomnia' and I got to sit up for hours trying to make a dent in some writing, editing, and reading. After finally falling asleep I gave myself an extra half-hour of sleep, plus a hot shower and getting to throttle the coffee pot meant I didn't get to reading until after 9:30am. Then it was time to visit people and all that crap, and so my morning wasn't as productive as I would have hoped.
I have 200 pages to finish out Twilight and then I'm on to something else. I have no idea how I'm going to review that book. I have strong opinions about it and I really don't even know what they are.
The books I'm looking forward to tackling next include:
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
I don't know which of these I'll read one I'm finished with this book, but if anybody has any ideas, please let me know. Hush, Hush is by far the shortest, but the two remaining titles are books in series' that I enjoyed a lot and really want to continue with.
The reading is actually going very well. Once I have the chance to sit down I can easily get in fifty pages in no time at all. I'm thinking of giving myself these slices of time more often. Of course it might help if I excused myself from the blog, eh...?
ANYWHO, my next post will be in several hours, then another later on this evening. I'm thinking, just thinking, about pulling an all-night to really get some reading done. (I have until 8am, don't I?) I read best when I'm alone. On Sunday, when I wake up and if I'm not dead, I'll have a post written up to sort of wrap this all together with a pretty bow.
I want to reward myself with something when I'm finished with this. Suggestions?
Ahem, well, now it's time to read... erm... pack. Yeah. -cough- hinthint-cough- Pack, sure...

Random note, a meme! Because pretty much anything could distract me from reading this book right now...
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
Climax, New York.
No, I’m not kidding.
Although I will be moving someday, which is sort of sad because I loved how suggestive the name of my town was. If you sort of want to find me, get a map, find NYC, follow the Hudson up, and before you hit Albany you’ll have ran your finger over me at some point.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
Um, let’s see… either Catching Fire or City of Ashes both are the next books in two of my favorite YA series’ and I can’t wait to get to them. I’ve been spending too much time thinking about reading rather than actually reading.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Anything that isn’t going to kill me. I made the mistake of eating chili for lunch and now I want to roll over and die. Mhmm, sure thing.
Really I can’t wait to go for a cup of tea and some finger food. I don’t care what it is. Something I can pop in my mouth without thinking and that won’t dirty my books.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I’m moving! I say this because I’m losing my mind with trying to move. It’s insane. I’m also an English major and a writer, not published yet, sadness… But I’m super proud of my shitty novel that needs to be edited to hell. I drink way too much tea and over the last six months I’ve had some serious life-changing experiences which I’m so thankful for because I’ve never felt so awesome….
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
Uh, read. The last read-a-thon I was so unprepared. I still am this year, but at least I can pretend to know what I’m doing.
I just can’t wait to finish a book and look like I’ve done something…

The Dewey Readathon
Dewey's read-a-thon. That... thing that Ive seen floating around several times before and ran away from. It's not that I don't get excited about a read-a-thon, it's that these biannual reading sprints only seem to occur during times of absolute craziness in my life. h, oh, and GUESS WHAT I'M DOING NOW?
Moving...
Oh yeah, nothing like reading whilst being surrounded by boxes and pesky family members who are telling me I should get off my you know what and pack already. This makes for pre-read-a-ton jitters, if you ask me. I can already tell you how bad it's going to suck.
But I still have plans! Yes, that I do. I am seriously prepared for this. Although there will be some packing and moving of boxes I know for a fact there will be times when the rest of the house is doing other things. (i.e. sleeping, eating, driving, etc...) THIS is where I will be doing my reading. (I am so ready for this...)
My goals are to have finished Twilight since I've had reader's block with that book for like... ever... and then to get through a chunk of one of the many 'to-read' books floating on my shelves... that haven't been packed yet... Since I've never really, really participated I'm not sure how much I'll get to read. Eventually, (Let's say four or five am to be safe) I'll fall asleep and on Sunday I'll have a master post to wrap-up the read-a-thon.
According to the website, I will be starting at 8am, which is actually pretty awesome. Most of the house is too groggy to poke at me that early in the morning. I plan on waking up early, making coffee, and just plowing through some pages...
If you want to follow my progress, I'll be posting at 12pm, then sometime in the late afternoon (between 3pm and 5pm), and then later on at night (9pm to 11pm). I'm sorry I can't give better times. Also, a master post, as stated before, will be up on Sunday. Also, there will probably be lots of goodies throughout the day being posted, but I really have no clue when I'll get around to that.
I'm looking forward to some cheer leadng in the comments section, and on my Goodreads. (Although Goodreads has refused to work for me for the second day now, sadness...)
I really wish this month was over. Then I'd be packed, moved, and settling in my new house, but this is the month I have to do the readalong in. However, I totally love my followers, those I have and those I'm about to receive. I'll tell you now that I'm planning a giveaway in May ONLY for my followers. So if you find my blog in the next few days or for the readathon, please consider following me.
Okay, well it's best to wrap up this post before I start ranting... So I'll see you all tomorrow! Luv yas all!
