Dewey's read-a-thon. That... thing that Ive seen floating around several times before and ran away from. It's not that I don't get excited about a read-a-thon, it's that these biannual reading sprints only seem to occur during times of absolute craziness in my life. h, oh, and GUESS WHAT I'M DOING NOW?
Moving...
Oh yeah, nothing like reading whilst being surrounded by boxes and pesky family members who are telling me I should get off my you know what and pack already. This makes for pre-read-a-ton jitters, if you ask me. I can already tell you how bad it's going to suck.
But I still have plans! Yes, that I do. I am seriously prepared for this. Although there will be some packing and moving of boxes I know for a fact there will be times when the rest of the house is doing other things. (i.e. sleeping, eating, driving, etc...) THIS is where I will be doing my reading. (I am so ready for this...)
My goals are to have finished Twilight since I've had reader's block with that book for like... ever... and then to get through a chunk of one of the many 'to-read' books floating on my shelves... that haven't been packed yet... Since I've never really, really participated I'm not sure how much I'll get to read. Eventually, (Let's say four or five am to be safe) I'll fall asleep and on Sunday I'll have a master post to wrap-up the read-a-thon.
According to the website, I will be starting at 8am, which is actually pretty awesome. Most of the house is too groggy to poke at me that early in the morning. I plan on waking up early, making coffee, and just plowing through some pages...
If you want to follow my progress, I'll be posting at 12pm, then sometime in the late afternoon (between 3pm and 5pm), and then later on at night (9pm to 11pm). I'm sorry I can't give better times. Also, a master post, as stated before, will be up on Sunday. Also, there will probably be lots of goodies throughout the day being posted, but I really have no clue when I'll get around to that.
I'm looking forward to some cheer leadng in the comments section, and on my Goodreads. (Although Goodreads has refused to work for me for the second day now, sadness...)
I really wish this month was over. Then I'd be packed, moved, and settling in my new house, but this is the month I have to do the readalong in. However, I totally love my followers, those I have and those I'm about to receive. I'll tell you now that I'm planning a giveaway in May ONLY for my followers. So if you find my blog in the next few days or for the readathon, please consider following me.
Okay, well it's best to wrap up this post before I start ranting... So I'll see you all tomorrow! Luv yas all!
I'm taking part in the read-a-thon, too! Good luck; I hope you manage to finish some books in between the craziness.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the moving (and the readathon)! We will be moving at the end of May, so I understand the craziness.
