Ladies and Gentleman, readers of all ages, it is my pleasure to introduce to you the incomparable Charles Dickens. That's right, the Mr. Dickens. Whether or not you've dabbled in a bit of his work before, you no doubt know his name. He is both famous and infamous, and he invokes pleasure, and some pesky memories, to readers everywhere.
Well it just so happens that our dear friend Mr. Dickens has a special tie to the time of the year. He's the author who penned A Christmas Carol which you've now doubt seen theatrical or film adaptions of. How many classics can you count that cover this wondrous, holiday season?
This is why I've chosen to hold a read along from now until Christmas to tackle Mr. Dickens' work. That's right, hop on board my blog and we'll read the novel that has inspired humbugs and scrooges to change their ways.
My copy, a Bantam Classic, has less than 100 pages of story, so don't feel terribly afraid of Mr. Dickens. In fact, if you've never read him before and want to dip your toe in "Dickens Water" so to speak, then this might be the time to do it.
Check out the book here on Goodreads!
Want to join in? Well of course you do! Simply leave a comment below saying you want to participate, perhaps a link to your blog if you own one, and start reading. We'll have a wrap-up the day after Christmas. (Give or take a day or so. Festivities might get the better of me!)
Please join in! Comments or questions? Let me hear them!

The Hobbit Read Along
Hello, faithful readers!
Tomorrow marks the beginning of the December month, and for many of you, the beginning of a holiday season. Whether or not you are celebrating a Holiday this month, it's hard not to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of this time of year, with traffic, shopping, weather, and the lot of it.
One of the greatest parts about the chilly weather, however, is the chance to sit in a comfy chair with a cup of hot chocolate and an epic book. Yes, I said epic, and I'm going to give you the chance to read something epic this December.
For those of you who read my last post, I'm going to be hosting a massive Lord of the Rings read along next year. That's right, the entire year we'll be delving into one of the greatest epic fantasies of our time.
However, it's only proper to start off with the prequel first. The Hobbit is Tolkien's beloved fantasy that prequels LOTR, following Mr. Bilbo on his first adventure where he acquired the One Ring. If you haven't read it, you must! And if you've read it before, the book is BEYOND worth another read.
Check out The Hobbit!
Want to join in? Splendid! All you need to do is comment below with your name and a link to your blog. Read the book during the Month of December, and once you've finished, post a blog entry on your blog with your thoughts. That's it.
Don't have a blog? Just post your thoughts as a comment on the end of my read along post, and you'll be good to go!
I'm really looking forward to reading this book with you all!
Happy reading!

Warning, the following is an in-depth look at parts of Ray Bradbury's 'Fahrenheit 451.' It may be interesting and informative to those who have read it, but it will ruin the book for those who have not! Proceed with caution.

Readalong: Fahrenheit 451
Obviously July is right around the corner. This weekend, at least for us U.S. folks, we're ringing in the new month with the 4th of July holiday. I'm looking forward to the new month and the next books I get to tackle. I decided that one of the novels I absolutely MUST tackle will be Fahrenheit 451.
Since I love to read with other people, I thought I'd host the the novel as a read along. I would love for you all to sign up and join me and tell your friends as well!
There will be two posts during the month to follow the first and second half of the novel:
I will post my views for the first and second half on these dates. When you post your views, just come on by with a link to your blog post and leave it in the comments. The first post will occur on July 16 and will cover roughly the first half of the book. That is Part One and Part Two, ending at Part Three. (In my paperback edition that is 110 pages.)
The second post will occur on July 30 and will cover Part Three of the novel and the Afterward. (Which is about 60 pages in my version.)
I would appreciate you linking back to 'I Read That Once...' or became a follow, but no pressure, :)
To join, please comment below with a link to your blog so that we can all keep in touch.
I look forward to seeing you all!
